The project to build a new power station at Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation project to local and regional businesses in terms of supply chain opportunities Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with EDF energy, recognises that local and regional businesses may need additional support to allow them to maximise the benefits on offer from the supply chain.That is why we have set up a Sizewell C Supply Chain team, to help you and your business be in the best position possible to win contracts from this project and others.

Gareth Davies (New) Head of Supply Chain Engagement
Gareth has spent the last 22 years as an Officer in the UK Armed Forces. This service has largely been in support of the UK’s Elite Forces and Rapid Reaction Brigade, being able to deploy globally in support of UK interests both home and abroad, within 24 hours. Gareth has a continuous record of strong leadership and management in high pressure environments including leading teams in deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Whilst this is Gareth’s first foray in to Supply Chain (or indeed as a civilian), he learns quickly and can identify strengths and weaknesses in people in order to use them effectively, efficiently and productively. The team he builds will have similar beliefs and values to ensure we remain fully focused on supporting both EDF and the Local and Regional Business Community.
Our role is to support and advise local and regional businesses on the standards that will need to be either aspired to, or further developed, so that together we can improve your ability to secure SZC related contracts. Gareth is delighted to join Miles Vartan, Angela Silburn and Sheline Gledhill at such an exciting time.

Suffolk Chamber Supply Chain Officer
Miles is a senior operational and programme change manager, with 30 years’ extensive supply chain experience developed within warehousing, manufacturing & supply chain, FMCG industries, running a rail terminal and working within the port industry.
He has worked in Suffolk for the last 28 years, building enviable networking connections and is often able to successfully facilitate B2B introductions. Miles has worked on Suffolk Chamber’s New Nuclear initiative since it’s inception in 2009.
Miles has the skill set and experience to fully audit and manage change at all levels of operations, from the creative planning and construction of new facilities/ ways of working through to the day-to-day running, whilst exceeding customer service and profitability expectations. Analytical, pragmatic and hands-on, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and procedures to find simpler ways of operating across the whole supply chain.

Sheline Gledhill – (New) Supply Chain Engagement, Events and Communications
Sheline has spent her career to date in publishing, most recently with Archant Suffolk on the East Anglian Daily Times’ business desk editing Business East Monthly. She worked closely with the Chamber in that role and is looking forward to reconnecting with the local business community after a career break that took her overseas.

Angela Silburn Suffolk Chamber Supply Chain Coordinator
Angela is an experienced projects co-ordinator. She has worked at Suffolk Chamber for 16 years and has an impressive knowledge of the business scene in the county.
Angela is responsible for the Sizewell C Supply Chain website in ensuring that information is up-to-date and that the register of businesses is as accurate as possible in order to maximise the opportunities for local and regional businesses.
