The project to build a new power station at Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation project to local and regional businesses in terms of supply chain opportunities Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with EDF energy, recognises that local and regional businesses may need additional support to allow them to maximise the benefits on offer from the supply chain. That is why we have set up a Sizewell C Supply Chain team, to help you and your business be in the best position possible to win contracts from this project and others.
The team comprises:
Gareth Davies (New) Head of Supply Chain Engagement
Gareth has spent the last 22 years as an Officer in the UK Armed Forces. This service has largely been in support of the UK’s Elite Forces and Rapid Reaction Brigade, being able to deploy globally in support of UK interests both home and abroad, within 24 hours. Gareth has a continuous record of strong leadership and management in high pressure environments including leading teams in deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Whilst this is Gareth’s first foray in to Supply Chain (or indeed as a civilian), he learns quickly and can identify strengths and weaknesses in people in order to use them effectively, efficiently and productively. The team he builds will have similar beliefs and values to ensure we remain fully focused on supporting both EDF and the Local and Regional Business Community.
Our role is to support and advise local and regional businesses on the standards that will need to be either aspired to, or further developed, so that together we can improve your ability to secure SZC related contracts. Gareth is delighted to join Miles Vartan, Angela Silburn and Sheline Gledhill at such an exciting time.
