International Energy Agency report underlines vital role for nuclear in tackling climate change

Today (May 28, 2019)  the International Energy Agency published a new report underlining the vital role for nuclear in making the low carbon transition possible.

The report, which can be found here, explores the role nuclear power currently plays, the potential impact of less investment in nuclear and why it is important to support the construction of new reactors.

EDF Energy is replacing the UK’s existing nuclear power stations by building Hinkley Point C in Somerset and we have plans to build a near identical station at Sizewell C. It would save 9m tonnes of Co2 a year and deliver power to 6m homes.
