John McNamara has joined the Sizewell C project team reporting into Head of External Affairs, Tom McGarry.
John is from the East of England and was born in Norfolk and has lived in Suffolk for 25 years. He has worked in the civil nuclear industry for over 20 years and started his career at Sizewell B in 1996 shortly after the station started to produce electricity.
After ten years at Sizewell B, John joined the Nuclear Industry Association in London in 2007 where he was based for five years. He then went on to join new nuclear build developer NuGen to work on their Moorside project in Cumbria.
Choosing to return back to the nuclear industry in Suffolk is a natural step in John’s career and he joined the community relations team working on the Sizewell C project in June. Speaking on the appointment John said: “I am delighted to be back in Suffolk working with the community on the Sizewell C project.”
John is based in the Sizewell C information office on High Street Leiston.
