Sizewell C sets out nine “Commitments to Britain”

Sizewell C has launched its nine ‘Commitments to Britain’, highlighting what the construction of the new nuclear power station in Suffolk will deliver for the country.

  • Document highlights how Sizewell C will help Britain get to net zero while boosting jobs and skills up and down the country.
  • Commitments published as Government announces new funding scheme for nuclear which will lower costs for consumers.

The commitments set out how the project will deliver reliable low carbon energy for 6 million homes and help Britain reach net zero by 2050. They are being published following the announcement of new legislation to finance nuclear projects at a lower cost to consumers. The document explains how the project will create thousands of jobs, apprenticeships and opportunities for businesses up and down the country, building on the nuclear revival started by Hinkley Point C.

Sizewell C is the only new nuclear project ready to deliver on these benefits and take the Government’s commitment to new nuclear in its Ten Point Plan, Energy White Paper and most recently its Net Zero Strategy to the next stage.
