The Planning Application for Sizewell C: Decision Time

Last week the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy announced that the deadline for its decision on Sizewell C Co’s application for a Development Consent Order to build and operate Sizewell C would be extended from 25 May to no later than 8 July. This is to ensure that there is sufficient time to consider fully the further information provided by us and interested parties in response to the consultation questions that have been asked by the Secretary of State over the past couple of months.

Given the amount of information submitted, this brief extension is understandable and it is important that all due process is followed. We look forward to receiving the DCO decision by early July.

The thirteen volumes that make up the Report on Consultation which was submitted with the application for a Development Consent Order to build Sizewell C. Every single issue and question raised at the four formal stages of consultation is answered in these documents.
