Ashley’s update

With decision to be made later in the spring, a financing model currently going through the house of lords, and an investment backing from the government announced last week, the project is gathering pace and we are getting ready to start help deliver on those promises made.

For many businesses, Sizewell C has been that opportunity that has been spoken about and referred too for far too long.  Always just on the horizon and always something to be aware of….. well, finally, we seem to be getting to the stage where things are happening.  As a team, supporting you as the local supply chain, we have been working closely with the Sizewell C teams and the Alliance partners to ensure we are best placed to understand the requirements of the project and where we can fit you in to these all important conversations.  This work will of course be on going, but we are now beginning to showcase some of the portal entries that you have all spent time over, to highlight where local firms can fulfil the work packages on offer.

As we move into the spring and through the rest of this year, we will be accelerating our events and webinar programme to help you get the advice, development and opportunities you all need.  Whether this be funding support for growth, skills development in key areas, or help to understand the complexities of working on a nuclear project, we will be there to advise and support you.  We have recently re started our in-person events and with huge plans to be across the entire Anglian region, it’s vital you keep an eye on the website for the most up to date info.

This is now, finally…. Hopefully….. the time we can be positive about the opportunity for local businesses and my team and I are there to support you.  There is still a need for patience with a project of this scale and size, but now is the time to start getting yourselves and your businesses fit for the opportunity that Sizewell C (and not forgetting the huge raft of other large scale projects in the South East) will bring.

As always, our key message at this stage….. please keep your portal registration up to date, accurate and full of information about you as a business, so that when these opportunities come our way, we can get them to you in the quickest most efficient ways possible.  Angela and the rest of the team are on hand to guide you through getting the most out the portal, so use every last inch of it to showcase your business.
