Events

Subject to an official launch of the project, The Suffolk Chamber Sizewell C Supply Chain team will continue to coordinate an event programme to support businesses interested in winning contracts at Sizewell C. These events will be delivered with the help of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, The New Anglia LEP, Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, East of England Energy Group, Colleges together for Nuclear and EDF Energy.

The programme of events will be planned to meet a range of needs for the business community and the work package requirements will be in line with the eventual project timetable.

Sizewell C – General Awareness Events

Helping a specified range of Suffolk’s businesses to understand the demands that a very large civil engineering project will require – including accreditation requirements, tendering for contracts, creating winning partnerships and tips on presentation when businesses have the chance to impress potential clients. These events will be open to all businesses, but priority will be given to those located in Suffolk.

Raise Your Game – Half Day Workshops

Small, tightly focused sessions to highlight ‘stepping up’ opportunities necessary to effectively engage in and meet standards expected in; quality, safety, project and productivity management. These workshops will be designed to cater for specific industry sectors and will by invitation only.

Work Package Info Events

Where EDF or a preferred Tier 1 bidder has recognised an opportunity for a local supply group to fulfil their requirements, a package awareness event is held. EDF will host, supported by the Suffolk Chamber Sizewell C Supply Chain team, and identify the basic requirements of the package to a selected group of potential component core group members. These events will be by invitation and will focus specifically on the requirements of main contractors which will then be matched with local business capability.

Meet the Buyer Events

‘Meet the buyer’ events will be facilitated days giving local businesses the opportunity to engage directly with main contractors. These events will be by invitation and will focus specifically on the requirements of main contractors which will then be matched with local business capability.

Appointments will be arranged through the Suffolk Chamber Sizewell C Supply Chain team or the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce for those businesses registered on the Sizewell C Supply Chain Portal.

The events and workshops will be held and promoted to all businesses if the content is generic or are targeted at specific supplier capability, according to the work package requirement. Only those suppliers registered on this portal will be invited.

EDF Energy fund the Suffolk Chamber Sizewell C Supply Chain team managed by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce which is identified as the single point of contact for both the regional supply chain seeking contract opportunities and main contractors seeking capable suppliers.
